Pole and exotic have become such a big part of my life, so naturally, I’ve accumulated quite the collection of dance outfits along the way. Some days I’m all about a simple black pole look, and other days I want sparkle, heels and as much extra as possible.
In this post, I’m sharing some of my favorite pole and exotic outfits, from my everyday training looks to the outfit I wore for my very first exotic show night. I’ll also share a few of my pole essentials that I always keep in my dance bag.

This is definently my most worn outfit. The zip up top is extremely comfortable and makes me so confident in class. I also tend to go for the all black look – so this look is just perfect, both with and without heels.

I love this simple white top for pole because it’s such an easy piece to style with different bottoms and still make the outfit feel completely different. It also works really well for exotic, especially when paired with heels and a more statement look.
It’s a great option for those days when I want something a little different from my usual all-black pole looks. 🤍

This is one of my favorite sets for pole — both pieces are from Dragonfly, and I love how put-together it feels while still being made for movement. The high-neck sports bra has an open back, which adds a really pretty detail, while the scrunch booty shorts make the set feel a little more fun and flattering.
I love wearing matching sets for pole because you can just put everything on and know the outfit works. It’s comfortable enough to train in but still makes me feel confident when I walk into the studio.🖤

My exotic dance outfits
For a warm training
This is one of my favorite looks for a warm day in the studio — a simple bikini top paired with shorts and my go-to high patent boots. It keeps the outfit light and comfortable while still feeling fun and a little extra, which is exactly what I want for an exotic class.
I especially love this combination when the studio gets warm, since there’s not too much fabric to move around in. The boots are a game changer – I instantly feel like a bad bitch when i put them on and they make every look fantastic.

Sparkles for shownight
My first exotic show night was such a special one, and of course I wanted the outfit to have as much sparkle as possible. I wore a sequin top with matching black sequin shorts, fishnet stockings and ankle boots.
The sparkle felt so fun under the lights, and I loved how the fishnets and boots gave the look a slightly edgier feel. It was definitely one of those outfits that made me feel extra confident the moment I put it on. ✨

What makes a good pole outfit?
Feeling Confident
For me, feeling confident is probably the most important part of a good dance outfit. I often find myself reaching for black, especially for pole, because I love how it feels simple, flattering and a little bit edgy.
For regular pole, shorts are also pretty important since having some skin exposed gives you the grip you need on the pole. But one of the things I love most about the pole community is how much of a safe space it can be. There really are no rules about how you have to look. You can keep it simple, go for all black, wear the sparkliest outfit you own or be as extra as you want.
For me, that’s part of the fun – wearing something that makes me feel confident and letting myself be a little more daring than I might be in everyday life. 🖤✨
Pole essentials - what i keep in my pole bag
Over time, I’ve definitely collected a few things that I always want to have in my pole bag. These are the little essentials I reach for at pretty much every class — and yes, I’m very much a fan of making my pole bag cute too. 🎀
Grip: I currently have three different grips depending on what I’m working on: a Monkey Hands in black, a green Monkey Hands, and a chalk. I always apply the black one first and follow up with chalk og sticky glue. I like having a few options because what works best can depend on the day, the trick and how much grip I need.

Pink water bottle: A cute water bottle is obviously a must. I always bring one to class, especially on the warmer days when a long pole session can get pretty intense.

Pink towel: This one is actually an essential. You end up wiping down the pole a lot during class, so I always keep a little towel in my bag. Mine is pink, because if I’m going to be wiping down a pole ten times during a session, it might as well be cute. 🎀

Knee pads: I use my knee pads for more than just pole. They’re especially useful for flexibility, floorwork and exotic, where I’m spending a lot more time on the floor. They’ve definitely become one of those things I never want to forget.

Heel protectors: And finally, my heel protectors. I use these to keep my exotic heels protected when I’m dancing. A small thing, but definitely worth having in my dance bag.
